The Withered Fig Tree

Mark 11:20-25 (New International Version)

20In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.

21Peter remembered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!"

22"Have faith in God," Jesus answered.

23"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

25And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

Life may be unfair, but God is always faithful. Having faith = holding onto the faithfulness of God. The measure of a man's faith is by his knowledge of God. A man that knows God so well knows that all his prayers will be answered.

I need to be revived. Help me to know you more, Lord. More of you and less of me.

Your grace is sufficient for me

Lord, as I seek
Your guidance for today,
I find my thought unyielding,
confusion crowds my way.
But then when I bow to to You,
the challenges You guide me through,
Your promises are ever new,
I claim them for today.

Your will cannot lead me,
where Your grace will not keep me.
Your hands will protect me,
I rest in Your care.
Your eyes will watch over me.
Your love will forgive me.
And when I am faltering,
I still will find You there.

The place, the purpose, and the promise. (Exodus 14:10-18)

He puts us in the valley of the shadow of death, so we may struggle and learn to depend on Him for help. Many a times, when life is gentle, "we turn our eyes away from Him, and soon forget to pray." But when we are put in trials, we will then learn to say "Lord, I need You". His purpose is so that we may be saved, and glorify His Holy name. We need to take the risk for Him. For when we are placed in difficult situations, and He helps us to overcome, we can then praise Him and spread the glorious word. And He will promise us a clear and complete victory over 'death'. We just need to be still, and know that He is there for us TODAY. That is how Moses led the people through the Red Sea and out of Egypt.
